Mr. Woz and Mr. Spock on Stage Together! A Geek’s Dream Come True! #StarTrek #Apple #tech

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and Leonard Nimoy interview each other on stage (no offense to Matt Marshall of VentureBeat who didn’t seem to get a word in). Unfortunately it’s only 6 minutes long, they deserved 60 minutes.

35 Years Ago Today, NASA Rolled the Space Shuttle Enterprise. The #StarTrek cast were on hand.
As we celebrate the 45th anniversary of Star Trek this month, it was 35 years ago on September 17, 1976 that NASA officials were greeted by the cast of Star Trek for the roll out of the test shuttle baring the same name as the vessel of the television series. Coincidentally, just months earlier this year, NASA ended the shuttle program.
From left to right they are: NASA Administrator Dr. James D. Fletcher; DeForest Kelley, who portrayed Dr. “Bones” McCoy on the series; George Takei (Mr. Sulu); James Doohan (Chief Engineer Montgomery “Scotty” Scott); Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura); Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock); series creator Gene Rodenberry; an unnamed NASA official; and, Walter Koenig (Ensign Pavel Chekov).

Classic video footage from a 1973 #StarTrek convention in NYC. A few years before I started going to cons myself. This one was a bit before my time (being I was too young).

A few years after this convention, Isaac Asimov interviewed here would scold me at different Star Trek convention in NY. Hey, I was young. Speaking of age, all the teens and 20-somethings in this clip are probably now in the 50s and 60s (and I’m sure are still fans).

The best is the last clip of an emotional fan. Those were the days.
