Manhattan, 1980. I took this shot using a 110 camera at the time (processed now on the iPhone), it turns out to be my only shot of the Twin Towers. I always thought they would be there to photograph another time. Take nothing for granted. #September11th #WTC (Taken with instagram)

An Astronaut Sees a Horrific View on September 11, 2001. #NASA (discovered via @24kMedia)
This photo of metropolitan New York City was taken by an Expedition Three crew member onboard the International Space Station on Sept. 11, 2001. A smoke plume rises from the Manhattan area where the World Trade Center was destroyed. The orbital outpost was flying at an altitude of about 250 miles.

Classic video footage from a 1973 #StarTrek convention in NYC. A few years before I started going to cons myself. This one was a bit before my time (being I was too young).
A few years after this convention, Isaac Asimov interviewed here would scold me at different Star Trek convention in NY. Hey, I was young. Speaking of age, all the teens and 20-somethings in this clip are probably now in the 50s and 60s (and I’m sure are still fans).
The best is the last clip of an emotional fan. Those were the days.
