35 Years Ago Today, NASA Rolled the Space Shuttle Enterprise. The #StarTrek cast were on hand. As we celebrate the 45th anniversary of Star Trek this month, it was 35 years ago on September 17, 1976 that NASA officials were greeted by the cast of Star Trek for the roll out of the test shuttle baring the same name as the vessel of the television series. Coincidentally, just months earlier this year, NASA ended the shuttle program. From left to right they are: NASA Administrator Dr. James D. Fletcher; DeForest Kelley, who portrayed Dr. “Bones” McCoy on the series; George Takei (Mr. Sulu); James Doohan (Chief Engineer Montgomery “Scotty” Scott); Nichelle Nichols (Lt.
